“I didn’t want just to know the names of things. I remember really wanting to know how it all worked.”

How is Science taught at Mousehold?
Our aim at Mousehold Infant and Nursery School is to provide a rich and exciting curriculum which challenges, inspires and motivates all children to know more and want to discover more about the ever-evolving world in which they live. We want children to be aware of the role that science plays in our everyday lives. From providing children with a sound knowledge of the animals and plants around them, making them aware of their responsibilities to protect the environment and creatures in it, to growing their sense of curiosity for scientific discoveries, we will encourage each child to develop their own lines of enquiry and thinking and ask pertinent questions about the world. Wider opportunities including visitors and STEM experiences will ignite children’s enthusiasm and belief that they can become the scientists of tomorrow.
