Mental Health Champions
What are Mental Health Champions?
We are a team of individuals who are passionate about the wellbeing of children, families and staff.
Who are we?
Mrs Graham ( Teacher ) Mrs Desouky ( Teaching Assistant )
What is in place already at our school?
We have many skilled and trained staff. This includes our Designated Safeguarding Leads, Class Teachers ,Teaching Assistants and our Parent Support Advisor. Our Mental Health displays and fiction story collection all aim to support the school community.
What procedures are in place if we have a concern for a child?
Class teachers will refer any needs to our Designated Safeguarding Leads who will discuss the concern with the Parents/Carers of the child and will also talk to Mental Health Champions if necessary.
How are we creating a school that support wellbeing?
Mental Health is interwoven into our school curriculum in a variety of ways. This includes, outdoor learning , PE, PATHS (the scheme of work used to deliver our PSHE curriculum), time to talk, home visits with Nursery and Reception parents and a focus on safeguarding hands.
How does this support extend to our staff?
As a staff team we strive to make wellbeing a school priority. We do this through the use of wellbeing buddies, staff shout outs and work load strategies.
