Geography

Without Geography you’re nowhere.’

How is Geography taught at Mousehold Infant and Nursery School?

At Mousehold Infant and Nursery School, we aim to instil in children a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. We believe that Geography is the study of our world and our place within it. Geography, being an investigative subject by nature, encourages critical thinking, where our children learn to provide answers to questions about the natural and human aspects of the world. The geography curriculum at Mousehold enables children to develop knowledge and skills that are transferable to other curriculum areas, promoting their spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development.

We foster children’s interest and understanding of diverse places, people, resources, and both natural and human environments, along with an understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. The curriculum embraces British values such as mutual respect and tolerance, and it is designed to progressively develop pupils’ knowledge and skills throughout their time at Mousehold and beyond.
