Our Reception classes had a wonderful visit from ‘Hoot With Me’. We were learning more about owls as part of our Power of Reading text ‘Owl Babies’. The children loved meeting Betty the Tawny Owl and Ethel the Little Owl. We learnt so much! Did you know that owls cannot move their eyes and instead have to move their head in order to look around them? We all wore owl binoculars to experience this ourselves – it was a very strange sensation! We also found out that Betty has dark brown eyes because she hunts at night and Ethel has yellow eyes because she hunts in the day. The children all chose an owl feather to remember our special day making magical memories for our Mousehold children. Thank you so much to Tonya and Gemma from ‘Hoot With Me’. http://www.hootwithme.co.uk/
