Newsletter 12th July 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

Well done to our Year 1 children for their excellent ukulele performances to parents and carers. It was a wonderful moment to see the children play as a class team, with such confidence and great ability. They will be great when they learn to play in a Samba band in Year 2. We have also seen some fabulous Capoeira displays this week.

We have had transition week where Year 2 children have spent time at George White, meeting their new teachers and spending time in their new classes. At Mousehold we have had transition across the week, where our Year 1 and Reception children have spent time meeting their new teachers in their new classrooms. Next year’s Reception children have also joined us for stay and play sessions recently.

The Friends of Mousehold School

The Friends of Mousehold would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that came to the Summer Fayre last week. We are pleased to announce that we raised an amazing £1,030.47 which will be a great help in improving facilities at the school.

Special mentions to all of those that gave up their time to help run stalls.

Finally, The Friends of Mousehold are always looking for new members. Please contact admin@thefriendsofmousehold.org if you are interested in finding out more.

Change to PE kit for next year

From September, we would like to see a return to a slightly more formal PE kit, as some children are arriving on PE days in clothes and shoes that are not appropriate or safe.

The PE Kit will be as follows:

A plain white T-shirt

Shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms in either plain dark blue, plain dark grey or plain black

Jumper or hoodie in either plain dark blue, plain dark grey or plain black OR they can just wear their red school jumper or cardigan

Trainers or plimsolls – sandals are not suitable footwear for a PE session

On allocated PE days (to be confirmed for the next academic year), children can come to school in their PE kit for the day, but the above criteria needs to be followed. Thanks for your co-operation.
