Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for completing the Annual Parent Survey. The results and a summary of responses will be shared on the next newsletter and will also be on our website.
The Senior Leadership teams from both schools have been working together to plan the transition for the current year 2 children to GWJ. This will be after half-term and a date will follow soon. We will ensure the transition is smooth for all children and we will arrange extra visits to the junior school for the children who would benefit from extra transition.
Please take time to look at our school websites. You can read about our curriculums and get a feel for both schools.
Job Vacancy
We are looking to appoint a Midday Supervisor to join our team and support the children during lunchtime. If this is something you may be interested in, please speak to Mrs Holmes in the school office for further details.
Attendance at Mousehold Infant and Nursery School
We have a celebration assembly each Friday afternoon where we share children’s achievements with everyone. As part of this assembly, we congratulate the class with the highest overall attendance for that week. The class with the highest attendance in Key Stage 1 receives ‘Top Dog’ to take to their classroom for the week. The class with the highest attendance in Reception receives ‘Top Cat’.
Our whole school attendance target is 96%. Current whole school attendance is 94.04%.
Top Dog – this week the highest attendance for Key Stage 1 goes to Raven class with 98.85%.
Top Cat – this week the highest attendance for Reception goes to Chaffinch class with 98.75%.
Promoting Well-Being in our School
We would like to thank parents for coming along to our first Well-Being Café this week.
As an introduction to what we hope will be a regular event each half term we shared information about what we offer both children and parents, to help support emotional and social well-being.
We are all involved in supporting your children daily by developing positive, healthy relationships, keeping them safe and providing a wide range of opportunities through the curriculum and additional activities.
We will be compiling an Information Leaflet which will list and explain the support available in school. This will be on the website and made available to parents at the beginning of the new school year.
Support for children and Parents includes.
- 1:1 time to listen to children and hear children’s voices provided by trusted adults.
- 1:1 sessions to support with emotional and social awareness run by our ELSA’s.
- Specialist “Time for You” sessions provided by the Benjamin Foundation.
- New Drawing and Talking Therapy.
- A Parent led Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Programme.
