Newsletter 15th September 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

We come to the end of another busy week at Mousehold. It is remarkable how quickly the children have settled in. We have had a change in weather this week and children have enjoyed the outdoors, whatever the weather! Our Capoeira and Ukulele lessons have started for Year 1 and our Samba drumming lessons for Year 2 will begin next week.

Attendance at Mousehold Infant and Nursery School

We have a celebration assembly each Friday afternoon where we share children’s achievements with everyone. As part of this assembly, we congratulate the class with the highest overall attendance for that week. The class with the highest attendance in Key Stage 1 receives ‘Top Dog’ to take to their classroom for the week. The class with the highest attendance in Reception receives ‘Top Cat’.

Our whole school attendance target is 96%.

Top Dog – this week the highest attendance for Key Stage 1 goes to Raven class with 100%.

Top Cat – this week the highest attendance for Reception goes to Greenfinch class with 100%.

A parent’s guide to keeping kids healthy this school year

As the new school year begins, children, teenagers and their parents prepare for new schedules, homework, friends, and activities. But the autumn also brings common illnesses that can keep children and teenagers away from their classmates and studies.

This blog post covers steps you can take now and throughout the coming term to help protect your family from seasonal illnesses. We’ll explore available vaccinations, how to recognise symptoms of common illnesses, and how to make informed decisions on whether a sick student is well enough to attend school or college.
