Dear Parents and Carers,
Well done to our Year 1 children for their excellent ukulele performances to parents and carers. It was a wonderful moment to see the children play as a class team, with such confidence and great ability. They will be great when they learn to play in a Samba band in Year 2.
Our Year 2 children have enjoyed their transition visits to George White Junior School. They have met their teachers and spent time in their new classrooms.
You will all receive your child’s annual report today. On that report you will see your child’s new class and teacher for September. Please trust us that we have put a lot of thought into placing your child. The teachers are excited to meet their new class very soon.

Partnership News
Well done to the children on George White Junior for their production of Oliver! I was lucky enough to see this on Monday, with the Year 2 children from Mousehold. It was great to see the children who used to attend Mousehold, perform, sing and act with such confidence. It is a great thing for the children at Mousehold to aspire to. Thank you George White!
New School App
As you will have seen in previous newsletters, we are launching a new school app. It is called Weduc. On Monday you will receive invitations to create an account and download the app. George White Junior School will also be using the same app, and you will be able to use the same app for all your children. Weduc will replace Parentmail with effect from September.
For the rest of this term we will be posting a few items such as notices and calendar items to help you start getting used to the system.
From September the app can be used to pre-order lunches, book Early Club, report absences, complete forms and do all of the rest of things that we have been using Parentmail for. It will be our one-stop shop for communication, so everything will be in one place. You should no longer receive emails or texts from other systems.
Weduc offer support to parents as well as the school, if you have any with the system.
Mousehold Shoe Bank
It has taken a bit longer to set this up than planned. If any parents can help me I will be very grateful. Please let the office know and I’ll then get in touch. I think it is best to be displayed on a couple of large tables that we can take onto the playground at the end of the school day for as many days as we can manage.
Thank you for all of the donations – there are so many!
The shoes can be taken by any family, no matter what your income or circumstances. We are all having to make small changes because of the rising cost of living. The shoe bank is for everyone.
Safeguarding
You will have seen Mr Smith in school and on the playground on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He will be covering Miss Balachandre’s Assistant Head role from September and will be a safeguarding lead for the school, in addition to Mrs Westall, Miss Wood and Mr Tolson.
Please see our website for all of our policies and more information about safeguarding
Designated Safeguarding Leads Mrs Westall, Mr Tolson, Mr Smith and Miss Wood. These members of staff monitor and manage all safeguarding practices and ensure staff are supported and have the training they need. Please ask to see one of these adults if you are worried about the safety of a child at school. |
If you have a safeguarding concern about a child out of school hours then the number to ring is: CADS – Children’s Advice and Duty Service – 0344 800 8020. |
